Status Report: Week 44 (Bill Murray Again)

Over the past several weeks, my chronic illness issues have flared up quite badly, and I’ve not been having anything close to what I would consider fun. In addition to lots of pain, the brain fog has been maddening. The fog started to lift a few days ago, however everything else decided to ramp up and basically render me useless.

When that happens, I have to take my heavy duty meds. Unfortunately, the more often you have to take them, the less and less effective they become. So not only have I been more medicated and more useless, but the meds haven’t been working nearly as well, so I’m in pain all the same.

It’s very dumb.

Because of all that, I’ve barely been gaming and have been sleeping when and where I can. I’m embarrassed to admit it, but I haven’t even started Red Dead Redemption 2.

I’m missing out on all the ponies. And I really am awfully fond of ponies.

I feel terrible writing these status reports when all I have to report is that I’ve played nearly nothing…again.

I’m sorry. :(

So I will keep this one short and say, here’s hoping the coming week is better. On many fronts.

This week, I want so badly to play something new. My challenge to play any number of horror games this month has crumbled. All I want is to feel well enough to play a game and focus on it for more than a few minutes. I have barely even wanted to play Destiny 2, and that tells me a lot right there. I want to start up Red Dead, even if I only spend an hour or so at a time with it. I am thirsty for new gaming experiences.

With that I ask: what will you be playing this week? Do you play games when you aren’t feeling well? If so, which games do you turn to for comfort?

Please be safe and well out there, friends. Cheers.
