And Yet Even More Glee With The PS4 Screenshot Function

Trials of the Blood Dragon™_20160622165845

I’ve often mused on my affection for the PS4 screenshot function. I’ve focused on my favorite Destiny screenshots, my favorite Witcher 3 screenshots, and screenshots from various other games.

So, since it appears I won’t be letting up on my screenshot fondness anytime soon, let’s call this: “PS4 Screenshots: Volume 0” and all subsequent features on screenshots will be Volume 1, and so on.

So, here we go!

In Borderlands 2 (via The Handsome Collection), certain visuals appear to have been enhanced, including the visuals on the bricks of Eridium (now they shimmer a bit). Add this to one of my favorite things in Borderlands 2 (when the slot machines ralph up 12 bricks at a time), and I’m a happy camper. I just love watching them all fly out and I have a meticulous habit of picking them up one at a time.

Get ready for a whole slew of Borderlands 2 images!

I have no idea why I have a fondness for these sad, dead fish in the Borderlands series, but I do. And they always make me think of Tannis for weird reasons. Maybe it’s the X eyes, maybe it’s the tiny snaggletooth, or maybe it’s the nostril. Whatever it is, I always feel a little sad for them.

Something about these Shield Digistruct Cores greatly amuses me. Or maybe it’s just the flavor text: “The shield part of a shield.”

They also look like great big contact lenses.

Dukino (and his subsequent quest line) is one of my favorite characters in Borderlands 2. I never thought I’d be so happy to help a skag, but every time I’ve played the game, I’ve smiled when I’ve seen him.

Happy, happy skag pup.

The Borderlands series is well known for their plethora of guns, but of them all, this remains my favorite (at least in Borderlands 2). The Blockhead is a ridiculously powerful weapon; it shoots a grid of nine projectiles (for the cost of one ammo!) that bounce when they hit a surface. Add to that that it looks super fun and can be used tactically to shoot behind and around enemies to get their weak spots, and you have a heck of a good time.

It also makes a really fun sound.

I’ve farmed so many hours to get various versions of this weapon, I can’t even tell you.

Another of my favorite weapons in Borderlands 2 is the Fibber. Depending on the variation it can either be powerful, or unwieldy.

One of my favorite memories of playing Borderlands 2 was with my brother when he became mystified about the stats card on this weapon. He kept asking me what +50% love meant. I kept referring him to the stats to see how wonky everything was, but I think he was puzzled all the same.

I mean, look at the magazine size. It’s so ridiculous. I love it.

The name of this area never ceases to deeply amuse me.

Friendship Gulag.

I giggle inwardly.

Not only was I proud to have gotten play of the game as Zenyatta in this Overwatch match, but this particular highlight intro made my version of him look bad*ss.

Any throwback to Groundhog Day is a good thing.

Resident Evil 7 Teaser: Beginning Hour_20160704113630

The Resident Evil 7 demo was tense and intriguing. I was also pleased to see that this wallpaper is nearly identical to a set of sheets I have.

.

The Park_20160506154102

The Park was one of my favorite gaming experiences this year. The atmosphere was thick with tension, and this particular setting was truly unsettling.

In keeping with the familiar bedding theme, this room in The Park had a comforter identical to one in my in-laws guest room.

I may be terrible at Trials, but this version has been totally worth it for the aesthetic alone. I love everything about the ’80s, over the top vibe.

Also, I love stickers. Like, in a great big way.

.

Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End™_20160512153223

I know I’m in the minority of folks who didn’t like Uncharted 4, but the game was undoubtedly beautiful to look at. This particular scene made me think only of the barricade in Les Miz.

I enjoyed that thought a great deal.

.

I am constantly taking screenshots of the games I play, so I know this will be a recurring feature. I look forward to all the beautiful screenshots to come!

Are there any screenshots you have taken that you are particularly fond of? If so, what game were they from?

With that, I wish you safe weekend. Cheers, friends.

    • I love it, too. Screenshots have become second nature to me now. I love going back and looking through them.

I don’t blame you for taking shots of Horizon; that game is gorgeous!
