February Game Challenge: Week Three

february game challenge 03 cover

Week three of the February game challenge is the week in which I admit defeat.

I am not proud of this.

The challenge was highly doable, however with all the constellating circumstances, the odds were stacked against me.

This does not deter me from trying (harder) again!

Because I have never failed a self-imposed game challenge before, I have decided to apply this challenge to March, as I can’t let it remain uncompleted. I have to dust off and give it another go.

I’m sorry if I let anyone down.

I want to give Fallout 3 the attention it deserves, especially now with the news that Bethesda will be having its own press conference at E3 for the first time ever. This has to mean either Fallout 4 or Elder Scrolls 6. Or heck, maybe both. Either prospect is exciting.

So, just to be clear, my goals for the month of March are to play (and complete): Fallout 3, Far Cry 4, and GTA V. For reals this time.

For the remainder of the month of February, my goal is to finish Dying Light (I have a fondness for Techland’s games, flaws and all), and I see that happening by tomorrow. I also would like to begin tapering off my intense Destiny game time. I think if I concentrate my Destiny efforts on Tuesdays and Wednesdays (when the raids and such reset for the week), I can focus more time on other games.

I also wouldn’t mind finishing at least one other game from my list of partially completed games. I think I could easily finish Little Big Planet 3, as well as play through all five chapters of The Walking Dead: Season Two before the end of the month.

With 12 days left in the month, I think those goals are highly doable. Sure, I wish I had been able to complete my initial challenge, but sometimes, things happen.

With that, I bid each of you a lovely start to the week and off I go to stave off those zombies in Dying Light.

Has anyone out there reneged on a self-imposed challenge? Did it deter you from playing those games right away, or did it drive you to complete them all the more? I’d love to know.

    • why not set a tiny goal just so you have some success, then build from there? either way, i believe in you!

this month just got away from me. there were things that required more hands on attention, and that’s just the way the chips fell or the cookies crumbled. or whatever. i try again!
