Five Nights At Freddy’s VR will be coming spring 2019.
Concrete Genie will release fall of 2019 and will have a VR mode.
An extended trailer for Days Gone was shown. Days Gone releases 04.26.19.
An extended trailer for Mortal Kombat 11 was shown. The game releases 04.23.19.

Clocking in at barely 20 minutes, I wasn’t sure what to think of this presentation. As Sony’s first State of Play, I was hoping for at least one of the heavy hitters (e.g.: Death Stranding, Ghosts of Tsushima, The Last of Us Part II) to make an appearance of some kind. The presentation felt short and lacking.
What did you think of Sony’s first State of Play?
.
Edit: Full disclosure: it looks like my stream didn’t start right away and I missed some VR announcements. My apologies.

I guess I don’t understand why games-to-come presentations – Playstation et al – don’t give more regular coverage to indie games. Absolutely, I would’ve liked updates on Death Stranding and Tsushima. Barring those, however, there have to be 20+ small titles for the year, far enough along in development (that they’ll be realized) and that Sony is confident in, to fill a montage or two…or to dedicate meaningful stage time to. They may not have the sunk cost or potential earnings as AAA titles, but “everyone” eventually is awares of those. Literally, 5 seconds of gameplay can help a game find an audience.

I would love if they did. Part of me wonders if it has to do with how much time and effort they put into No Man’s Sky and how that whole thing backfired on everyone. I really feel like Hello Games suffered because of the insane hype people were putting on the game (Sony included). Personally, I’d love to see a whole presentation devoted to all the upcoming indie titles. Like where is Knights and Bikes? Why didn’t they talk about the early access release date for Dreams that was announced today? A lot of what Sony is doing lately is concerning. I hope they find their way, again. My only guess is that they are so focused on the PS5, that everything else has been waylaid. I guess we’ll know eventually.
And you are right. With so many eyes on the presentation, a lot of positive press could come from even a few moments on an indie title.
