On Wednesday, two lovely men came over to fix our air conditioning. While we were talking, I mentioned offhand that the floor in the bathroom seemed odd but we didn’t know what was causing it.

Turns out, it looks like there very well may be a leak in a pipe somewhere and the bathroom floor of this historic (but completely renovated less than a decade ago) building has rotted and warped.

I’d told the men I thought the toilet was sinking, but that I knew it would sound bonkers, so I’d measured some things with my level and, sure enough, the floor had warped pretty drastically.

So, today, those same lovely men are coming back to finish fixing our AC and to completely rip up and replace our bathroom floor.

This is not what I expected for today. They called me late last night and asked if they could come today; then they let me know the bathroom would be out of commission for around six hours.

So, here we are, the day of bathroom reckoning.

Since people will be in and out of our place all day, I’m just going to roll with it and play some games and organize when and where I can. I will probably wind up playing Destiny while they are here, as there’s nothing I’d feel too awful about stepping away from content-wise if I was needed elsewhere. I’d thought about starting something new today, but I don’t want to get into the story of something, only to have it peppered with chunks of floor being pried up or whatever else will be going on back there.

Organizing is also a solid option. I have so many things I’d like better organized and I’m sure that would be a decent “there are people here” activity.

Whatever happens, it’s going to be an interesting day.

This weekend I’m hoping to (cue the echo of weekends past) get to something new. I don’t know if that’s going back to God of War or if that’s finally starting Red Dead Redemption 2, but I’m ready for something new. I need some new content for my brain place.
