As most of you are aware, this year was not a typical one for me. The nearly ten month sick put me out of commission for just about every type of activity; I couldn’t play games, read books, watch movies, anything. I was a couch (and bed) barnacle with limited waking hours and limited energy for movement of any kind.
Due to those grody factors, I barely played any games this year. For the first time in a lonnnnnnnnng time, I barely played a dozen games in the calendar year. Of the 13 I played and finished (that number includes DLC), only five released this year.
Because of this, I am unable to make a top ten list of games from 2017. I know that shouldn’t be a big deal (and it isn’t, really), but it’s disappointing for sure, particularly in a year when so many amazing games released.
I’m committed to not only catching up on so many of the games I’ve been wanting to get to, but to being more productive overall in the coming year.
So, with that unfortunate conclusion on the table, I have a question for you: what’s on your top ten list for 2017? I’d love to know what you played this year that stood out in a positive fashion.

Yeah, you had a complicated year, so I don’t blame you for not getting a ton of gaming done. Just wait until you and your daughter can start playing Dark Souls together!! Ember up, kiddo!
Interesting! I love seeing what games moved people. I’m glad you enjoyed Wolfenstein 2, and I can’t wait to play so many of these on your list!

Hmm, I too feel unqualified to make a proper top ten list. My top spot for 2017 is undoubtedly Uncharted: The Lost Legacy. Nadine and Chloe should have a full length game (although I prefer the combat mechanics of Naughty Dog’s The Last Of Us). I do have to give a shout out to Overwatch, I consistently return and devote hours to climbing the ranks.

Well qualified or not, I’m always interested in what you have to say. I’m so glad you loved Lost Legacy!! I still want and need to play it. Hopefully they will get the next full length Uncharted game to themselves.
I think Overwatch will have its hooks in people for years to come! Blizzard seems to be good at that!

I don’t have a top ten list either. Everything on my list released in 2017. I only finished two of the five games (#2,4).
My list would be:

The more I hear about Persona 5, the more I want to play it. This is a solid list! And I can’t imagine how tough it was to rank this year’s games.
