Short Takes: Feedback Request

This time last year, I had my plans for 2017 all laid out; when my Big Sick hit in January, it sidelined nearly all of them.

This year, I’m determined to be healthier (here’s hoping that works), and, subsequently, trying to put those initial changes into play for 2018.

One of the things I’m aiming to finally start doing (by March) is streaming games once a week. It will be the same day and time each week (likely Tuesdays to coincide with new releases), and probably only for an hour or so, depending on the game. I’d also like to play some co-op sessions on those days, as well as group games such as The Jackbox Party Pack. I’d love for people to be involved if they were so inclined.

I will also be reviewing at least one game per month. Big, small, new, or old, at least one game is getting reviewed per month.

But here’s where you come in: what would you like to see? What would you like to see more of? More news, more images, more video?

Also, if you think the content is fine as is, please feel free to let me know that, too. I just want my efforts to grow and fruit.

I’m trying to fruit, here.

Any feedback is welcome, and if you’d rather not post it in a comment, please feel free to email me at: sinceretoafault@gmail.com or tweet me at: @rebekah_lang

Thank you for your input, and here’s to 2018! Cheers, friends.

  1. Rebekah, the content is fine. More streaming, if possible would be a plus. I like the idea of reviewing games. I’m always looking for something to play. I plan to broaden my gaming horizon in 2018. Cheers!

  2. I enjoy your current content. My request would be that, if you can, that you cache or otherwise save your streams in order to be able to watch it later if I’m unable to live. Release day streams sound like fun. Certainly, I’d love to see reviews of whatever game that you’re playing. I just played What Remains of Edith Finch? myself and am wondering what others think of the game. In short, your ideas sound wonderful and I look forward to seeing what you do. I hope that your health stays on the mend so that you can enjoy games in 2018.

    • Aww, thank you!!

I will look into however that works. My understanding of streaming and archiving is minimal at best. I have homework to do for sure. But you make a very good point. Thank you.

I absolutely feel like I have no place doing reviews, but I’m going to try. Inside my head there is a nagging thought: what gives me the right to give my opinion about any particular game?

I still don’t know, but I’m going to try.

I need and want to play Edith Finch! Once I do, I’d love to talk to you about it!

Here’s to collective health for all of us in 2018! I will cheers to that!!

  3. I really like the content as it is now. Always something good to read. I would be totally down to watch a stream. Do you think you would stream on twitch or YouTube?

    • Thank you!! I very much appreciate that!

I would try to stream on both, but I would probably go YouTube because I could archive the streams a bit easier. I am still looking into it.

  4. If you stream it, I will come.

Provided I’m not at work at the time, of course.

Also, I hope 2018 has 100% more Everybody’s Gone to the Rapture! :-)

    • Wheee!! Thank you!!

And I understood what you meant. I am also looking into archiving streams to see how that works. I’m new to all this.

I bet it does, Brad. I bet it does. :)

  5. I’m sure you had some big plans this year before this awful sickness put a wrench into all that. Hopefully you can get back on track in 2018.

I’m happy with whatever content you decide to put up.

  6. Streaming and reviews sound like a great addition to your content Rebekah! I’ll be sure to check it out whenever you decide to go forward with it. If possible, I’d like to join in the co-op sessions. The upcoming Monster Hunter looks interesting which, if you’re interested, looks like a fun possible contender for that.

    • Thank you! I hope to put both into effect far sooner than later. The reviews as early as this month, and streaming as early as March (with probably a few test streams between now and then). I’d love to get you in on some co-op!

I missed both betas for Monster Hunter (one due to PSX and the other due to being away on holiday), but I’m interested for sure!
