It’s hard to believe we are less than a week away from the last month of the year. Honestly, I think I’m in denial about it.
That being said, it’s time to cut to the chase and try to make up for lost time.
This past week, I had high hopes for playing many co-op games and for finishing up Dishonored 2.
Guess what I didn’t do?
Either of those things.
What I did do was play a veritable crap ton of Pokemon Sun. I think I’m fairly close to the end, but that doesn’t mean I have been streamlining the story; quite the contrary. Saturday night I spent literally hours trying to find, and catch, an Eevee as well as as a Jigglypuff. Well, after catching an Eevee hours before and still not finding a Jigglypuff, I decided to look up if there was a particular time of day they would appear.
It turns out there is: daytime.
When it is daytime in real life, it is daytime in the game. I was doing all this searching at night.
Cue up the cricket sounds.
I was so frustrated because it was already after 5am and I was still Jigglypuff-less. Yesterday afternoon I was fortunate and remedied that particular situation so, eventual, hooray for me.
I have no doubt I will finish up Pokemon Sun in the next couple of days, but I now have laser focus for what to do with the rest of December: try to complete as many games as I can that were released this year.
First up will be The Last Guardian, which releases on the 6th. I will absolutely be playing it the moment I can get my hands on it. I sincerely hope I can finish Dishonored 2 well before then. After that, I’d like to get as many of the following 2016 releases as possible:
Layers of Fear
Far Cry: Primal
Trials of the Blood Dragon
Hyper Light Drifter
Bound
PSYCHO-PASS: Mandatory Happiness
Yomawari: Night Alone / htol#NiQ: The Firefly Diary
Root Letter
Titanfall 2
Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare
And so many more.
I know I won’t be able to finish all those games before 12.31, so the idea of listing more of them is a moot point.
No matter how I look at all this, I am looking at a packed four weeks, one of which I won’t even be near my consoles.
This will be interesting.
Also, today is my dumb birthday and, in effort to avoid the misery it typically brings me, I will be playing games as early and as often as I can to try to forget that today is today and that zero fuss has been made.
So…yes. I hope I can get a little further in Dishonored 2 and work towards wrapping that up. I’d still like to get to some of the shorter fare before The Last Guardian releases next week. I have my eye on that prize.
Hopefully I have solid progress to report next week.
With that, I excuse myself to go mope in a corner somewhere. Cheers, friends.

Happy Birthday! Enjoy a game day! I proudly finished The Witcher 2 yesterday and so I’m absorbing the ending then finally starting The Witcher 3 shortly. I’m not so inclined to finish games by the end of the year but, if anything, I did pick up Inside over the weekend and I would like to play through it soon. Personally, I’ve enjoyed the campaigns of Titanfall 2 and Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare. Titanfall 2’s campaign is rather short and it’s a good mix of gunplay and platforming. COD: Infinite Warfare (I haven’t finished the campaign) adds fun (but simple) aerial combat. I’m interested in playing both games’ multiplayer matches to relieve stress as I work towards yet another deadline.

Thank you! And congratulations on finishing The Witcher 2! You have quite the experience before you in The Witcher 3.
Inside is an amazing game in its own right. I hope you enjoy it.
I’m looking forward to those two short campaigns. And I hope your work deadline is a lot nicer than it sounds. :)

Happy birthday Rebekah! I hope you had a good day. I hope The Last Guardian will be worth the wait. It’s funny that the wait for release has been so long and I thought I could get to Ico and Shadow of the Colossus before it released, but I waited too long. With Final Fantasy XV and The Last Guardian two games with crazy long development cycles will be complete.
I’m still working on Spirit of Justice and Titanfall 2. They’re both great games, but right now it seems I’ve only had time for handhelds lately. I’m sure I’ll finish both by the end of the year. I can’t wait to hear your picks for best games of 2016!

Thank you! I had quite a lovely day, thank you.
It is kind of strange that two games that were in development for close to a decade are coming out within weeks of each other. I hope both are excellent.
I’m excited to hear everyone’s 2016 picks, too! I just feel bad I won’t get to more of them. But I will do my best!
