September Game Challenge: Week Two (Oh Me, Oh My!)

tearaway unfolded

Well this past week certainly had gaming in it, and some definite success!

This post is in a bit of an odd space: Tearaway: Unfolded releases tomorrow, so I can’t have started on that yet, but I’m quite excited to do so. What I have been doing is…

300px-Skolas-defeated-grimoire

…defeating this guy. That’s Skolas, and due to the kindness of strangers who were willing to help me for over six hours on Sunday (yes, you read that right), I finally completed my Destiny Moments of Triumph. Somewhere around the four hour mark, I wasn’t sure it was going to happen. I felt a bit deflated, but one person on the team was certain of success and I felt bolstered by his optimism. We kept at it and we finally took him down.

Allow me to just say, defeating Skolas was far more difficult than either of the current raids. I’m not even joking. Trying to coordinate between the three of us and all the overwhelming nonsense going on, I was tense to the max. If it wasn’t one thing, it was another, and then another on top of that.

But we finally defeated him, and when we did, I cheered out loud for a good long while. And when we got to the treasure room and opened those chests, so much loot came out I couldn’t believe it. My screen just lit up with all the wonderful things I’d found.

I finally got the shimmery version of my favorite ship:

hildian seeker

…the Hildian Seeker. Isn’t she lovely? She shimmers like a space ocean. I love her.

I actually didn’t know until we were around hour five of the Prison of Elders that the shimmery ship was one of the rewards for beating Skolas, so that only served to renew my determination to take him down.

I also ended up with a shader, an emblem, a weapon, an elder cipher, an armor core, a weapon core, etheric light, and a cape. No matter how you look at it, that was a haul.

Oh but that beautiful ship.

She’s my favorite.

So that’s my major achievement for the week. And honestly? I feel pretty amazing about it. I really wasn’t sure I’d be able to pull it off. I thought I was potentially the weakest link since I hadn’t done it before, but I held my own and we worked together to complete it as a team.

Tonight there will be a bit of Little Big Planet 3, and tomorrow: Tearaway! I can’t wait to see it on the big(ger) screen and take in all the changes for the PS4 version.

And I will screenshot the crap out of it. Stay tuned.

Cheers, friends!

    • It was one of the greatest video game victories I’ve experienced, and I’m not even kidding. I just couldn’t believe it happened!

And thank you! I picked it up not long ago, but, alas, no time to play it just now. Boo.
