Following Ubisoft’s press conference, Sony took the stage. Here are the highlights.
The Last Guardian has finally been announced! The creature is even more moving after seeing extended gameplay. I can’t believe this day finally came. A 2016 release was announced.
Guerrilla Games introduced their new franchise, Horizon Zero Dawn. The game looks ambitious as heck.
A new Hitman was announced.
Street FIghter V was shown, showcasing several characters. The beta starts July 23rd.
Sean Murray from Hello Games took to the stage to show actual gameplay from No Man’s Sky. He showed the awesome (and I mean truly awesome) scope of the game’s galaxy. It was surprising that Murray said the release date was coming soon, and not at the conference. Even still, we saw a lot of aspects to the game we hadn’t seen before (e.g.: destruction).
Media Molecule announced their newest title: Dreams. Dreams is a game where you explore the dreams of others, and create dreams of your own. The creation tools look unreal. And magical.
Firewatch was announced to make its console debut on PS4. Until now, it was only going to be available on PC so this was a welcome announcement.
A trailer for Destiny’s The Taken King expansion was shown with some very exciting locations and weaponry featured. The expansion releases on September 15th.
Assassins Creed Syndicate was shown, and we got a good look at Evie’s playstyle. There will be some exclusive content on PS4.
World of Final Fantasy was announced with chibi-looking characters and will land on PS4 and PS Vita in 2016.
Remake was announced by Square Enix of Final Fantasy VII.
Devolver Digital will be releasing Ronin, Eitr, Mother Russia Bleeds, and Crossing Souls.
Shenmue III was shown to be a new game on Kickstarter. Pretty sure this will be funded like…immediately.
An extended trailer for Batman Arkham Knight was shown highlighting the Scarecrow Nightmare missions.
Project Morpheus was discussed. Rigs will make use of the Morpheus and will be a 3 vs. 3 experience.
House took the stage to discuss various apps for the PS4, and he talked about Playstation Vue, where premium channels can be subscribed to without cable.
Playstation is partnering with Activision and a Black Ops III trailer was premiered. It appeared that the game can be played in four player co-op, though I wasn’t absolutely clear on this. Black Ops III multiplayer was introduced and was announced to be playable on the showroom floor. Starting with Call of Duty Black Ops III, PS4 will be the first to get new map packs. Playstation is apparently the new “home” to Call of Duty.
Disney Infinity 3.0 will have a Playstation exclusive early release playset which has certain characters a month before other platforms. It includes the Boba Fett figure.
Star Wars Battlefront was shown but it was unclear if there was exclusive content.
And to conclude, a new trailer for Uncharted 4 was premiered.
This concludes today’s E3 press conferences, and we begin again tomorrow with Nintendo’s press conference at 9am PST.
Good night!

Uncharted is releasing next year, Last Guardian is 2016, World of Final Fantasy is 2016, Horizon Zero Dawn doesn’t have a release date, Hitman doesn’t have a release date, No Man’s Sky doesn’t have a release date, Final Fantasy 7 remake doesn’t have a release date and isn’t exclusive, Dreams has no release date, Firewatch has no release date, Shenmue 3 doesn’t have a release date and they literally told fans to fund it for them, Destiny was about DLC, just like COD.
I don’t know why people are saying they won. Sure it’s cool to watch, but it’s almost nothing this year from that E3. Most of what is coming out this year at the E3, was from other companies that will be available on Xbox as well. Not many games actually showed during that conference, they spent time talking about something other than video games. Again, why are people saying they won E3? It was basically “Next year will be the year we actually release these games we showed you”. Stuff that MS was criticized for a couple years ago is getting praised by Sony.

i understand where you are coming from, but i think so far everyone has done well. the only thing i thought was really odd was the kickstarter thing, but who knows why that played out the way it did. perhaps the creator would rather crowdfund than look to a major publisher?
either way, i think yesterday was one of the best days in the history of e3 for gamers. just unbelievable. and UNRAVEL.
i am so much looking forward to unravel.

Horizon! That was a pleasant surprise, like a Monster Hunter (that I’m actually interested in) set in an open world equal parts The Last of Us and Enslaved.
I was surprised by how much Firewatch interested me for so little explanation or game play showed.
I was really hoping for a release date for No Man’s Sky as they had previously stated a target release date sometime this year. I can’t wait to sink so much time into that. And every time I see Sean Murray I like him more.
As a big fan of Ico and Shadow of the Colossus I can’t wait for The Last Guardian (it’s about time!). Uncharted looks like a better version of the good “summer blockbuster” fun the previous entries were. And Hitman, AC: Syndicate: and Batman all look to deliver exactly what people hope for from those franchises as well.
That Dreams demo absolutely filled me with feelings of inadequacy, I’m fascinated by it but I have no confidence in my ability to actually make use of it. It just looks to big for me.
Too many games! :)

i’m surprised by how much i keep hearing about people loving horizon! i think i’m still mad at guerrilla games after killzone shadow fall. that game was the worst. and i will never get my time back from playing it.
i will try to keep an open mind about horizon. :)
firewatch has been on my radar for quite some time now, but hearing that it will be coming to ps4 was AWESOME news!!! i can’t wait.
i, too, love sean murray. he seems so genuine, and i LOVE the video that GI did of jeff cork interviewing him. it may be my favorite video GI has done. ever.
when they began the conference with the lead in to the last guardian, i was actually talking out loud to the tv. i was like, no way. no way. NO WAY!
i’ve never been a huge fan of the uncharted games, but i love that they push the envelope technically.
the dreams demo was astounding. i have no idea how i would ever be able to create anything that made sense, but i love media molecule, and i know i will have to try.
SO MANY GAMES!!!
