Bethesda rounded out day two of E3 2017’s press conferences. Here are the highlights.
Pete Hines took the stage to open the show. He announced there are two VR games coming out this year: Doom VFR and Fallout 4 VR.
A montage of The Elder Scrolls Online: Morrowind streamers was shown along with in-game footage.
Creation Club is a selection of new game content for existing games. New content can be bought with in-game credits through menus. Creation Club is coming summer of 2017.
The Elder Scrolls: Legends has new content coming next month.
The Elder Scrolls: V Skyrim was briefly shown for the Switch with Amiibo support for Link.
Dishonored 2 has DLC coming called Death of the Outsider. It will release on September 15, 2017.
Quake: Champions was given a trailer and the Quake World Champions competition was announced.
The Evil Within 2 was announced. It was given an extended trailer and will release October 13, 2017.
Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus was announced. It was given an extended trailer and will release October 27, 2017.
Pete Hines returned to the stage to close out the show. He reminded the audience that everything shown during the presser will be released this year.
This press conference clocked in well under an hour.
See you all tomorrow for my recap of the Ubisoft presser!

I didn’t expect the conference to be that short.

Me either! I was honestly surprised. And I hate to say it but Pete Hines seemed almost bored up there at the end. It was very odd.

Thank you for the recap! I burst awake this morning to check the headlines from Bethesda’s press conference (and whether or not the Pittsburgh Penguins won the Stanley Cup last night). I deflated a bit to scroll through Bethesda’s announcements and not to see anything overwhelmingly exciting. I want to play Dishonored’s DLC before I play the new standalone because after finishing Dishonored 2 I feel like I’m missing major story information. Also I need to finish Wolfenstein: The New Order. Still, the lack of brand spanking new games is fine with me. I just bought Prey and I’ve a ton of game left to play in Fallout 4.

Of course! Aww, well, to be fair, the presser was a bit deflated, too. It was one of the weirder E3 press conferences I’ve seen.
I also need to play Wolfenstein (I played and liked the 2009 version, but I’ve yet to play The New Order). I haven’t played Prey yet, either!
I know they announced two new games but something just felt…off. I can’t quite put my finger on it.

New Order was my game of the year. That was the same year as Dark Souls 2, so let that sink in. :-)

Consider it SUNK.
I really need to play it. I even pre-ordered it and I’ve had it sitting there since then. Perhaps after all this E3 excitement I can dive in.

This was a weird conference. I can’t say that I’m a fan of the presentation style that they used, it just felt strange and all over the place. I guess I just prefer the traditional approach where a dev comes out to talk about their game and then show off said game.
At the end of the day though it is the games that really matter and Bethesda had some good reveals. I’m most interested in the Dishonored DLC as I’ve greatly enjoyed that series so far. Also it was cool to see The Evil Within 2 show up; I’m glad to see that series continue and I’m always up for another survival horror experience.

It really was strange. I don’t think it was bad necessarily, but I just felt like it was…I don’t know. Just weird.
I like that they wanted to get in there and show games one after another, but it seemed to mess with the flow, particularly when it was so short.
I think both reveals were solid, and I’m glad there is excitement for them. I still need to go back and finish Dishonored 2. It’s also odd that they didn’t mention Prey at all other than a short clip of it in the introduction.
I’m super looking forward to the wackiness of Ubisoft this afternoon. I think it’s going to be awesome. I hope Mr. Caffeine shows up.

I was pretty dissatisfied with Bethesda’s conference. The vast majority of their showcase was for VR games that I feel most people have already played to death already and the addition of VR won’t add much to the overall experience or for games that are already out. The biggest disappointment for me was Quake. With as highly praised and received Doom was, I was thinking that we’d see a lot more gameplay and attention to the development/innovations especially since it’s nearing release.
I was happy to see at least some new upcoming games. If it wasn’t for Evil Within 2 and Wolfenstein New Colossus the whole conference would have been a bust in my opinion.

I was truly puzzled by Bethesda this year. I’m glad they announced the sequels to Wolfenstein and The Evil Within, but even then, it felt weird.
