Summer Camp

I have Google Alerts set for various topics, foremost being upcoming video games I want to keep my eye on. One of those alerts is for Until Dawn, however, due to the title, it provides returns on just about every topic other than the intended one.

This week it provided a fortunate surprise, as it turned up a game called Summer Camp, developed by Gun Media, which is coming to PS4, Xbox One, and Steam. It will be the first in a series of games paying homage to classic horror films of the ’80s.

Summer Camp will be a multiplayer experience, where you will play either as one of the dispensable camp counselors or the killer himself (herself?). It’s unclear yet if the role you play is up to you or randomly assigned.

One thing I found interesting was that the game takes place in third-person. I would have thought it would be more effective in first-person, however that’s purely speculation as I haven’t seen the game in action.

I love the atmosphere of horror films, and I’m definitely looking forward to hearing more about this game in the future. It was of note that they secured the original composer of the Friday the 13th films, Harry Manfredini.

Hopefully this game gets the attention it deserves, and that we hear about a release date sooner than later. For more information, please visit the Gun Media website for the game.
