I’m only a few hours into waiting for my copy of The Division 2 to arrive today; here are my early impressions.
The graphics are solid. Frame rate is solid. No screen tearing. The sound is also crisp and clear.
There is zero gunplay.
So far I have found no use for cover.
The self care maintenance mechanics are tedious but realistic.
The in-game timer is slow, or at least feels slow.
There is no satisfying DING to mark personal progression; it’s disappointing.

In all seriousness, I can’t wait for my copy of the game to arrive so I can play the crap out of it! Wahoo!!
It probably goes without saying that I will be playing the ever living heck out of The Division 2 this weekend. I will also be playing more of the first Borderlands via PS Now, which continues to be a sketchy service at best. It never ceases to amaze me how poor the streaming can be when I have excellent internet and my system is hardwired into my router. It’s bizarre. I may also continue my lackadaisical pursuit of the Thorn in Destiny 2. I’m also going to indulge in some Horror Movie Friday antics by catching up on some horror movies I have but haven’t seen yet.
With that I ask: what will YOU be playing this weekend?
Full disclosure, the topic for today’s piece was suggested by my partner after I lamented not knowing what to write about. As soon as he said it I loved it.

I too cannot wait to get my copy of The Division 2. However, this weekend I’ll have some rare gaming time and a bevy of games available to play. I want some more time in Anthem and I actually never got to the end cap in the first The Division, I’d like to get it a go. For right now, my dog just got his shots and he is wandering the living room unsettled. We’re all settling in for some couch time to start the weekend.

Haha, Solid first impression of the game. Hopefully you’ll get your hands on soon.
Just finished up Watch_Dogs, I don’t think I’ve ever been this underwhelmed at finishing a game. Just a paint by the numbers Ubisoft title.
With that said, looking forward to continuing Horizon Zero Dawn and maybe some battlefield v.

Since I’m poor, I’m gonna play my Gamestop Rented copy of Far Cry New Dawn.
It’s fun so far honestly. The RPG-ness of it feels weird, but not bad. Just different. I might turn it off and test it out more FPS style.
One game that I still really want to buy is Phantom Doctrine. It’s like a Cold War era XCOM against a secret organization who’s trying to destabilize the world.
