DESTINY 2 HYPE TONE POEM

BYE BYE TOWER
YOU EXPLODED
OUR LIGHT IS GONE
WE ALL FEEL LOADED

PEW PEW PEW
GO GUNS IN SPACE
PEW PEW PEW
GOT SHOT IN THE FACE

START ALL OVER
NO OLD GEAR
WE’RE ALL BUMMED OUT
BUT WE’RE ALL STILL HERE

I MISS MY SHADERS
I MISS MY STUFF
I MISS BEING LEVELED UP
IT’S NEVER QUITE ENOUGH

THE TIME HAS COME
WE’RE ALMOST THERE
DESTINY 2
LIVIN’ ON A PRAYER

*** *** ***

I am equal parts proud and embarrassed by that. I hope you enjoyed it.

With that I ask: what will YOU be playing this weekend?

I’m hoping to get to Wildlands (my relapsed health ruined all my chances for playing so far this week), as well as get in a couple of shorter games. And, who am I kidding, I will pretend to play Wolfenstein again this weekend.

FIVE DAYS UNTIL DESTINY 2!!

Please be safe out there friends. Cheers.

  1. That’s what I call love for a video game! I hope you have lots and lots of fun with Destiny 2! Or maybe you should go with the real big release next week…Knack 2! OOOOOOOHHH! Kidding!

This weekend I’ll be playing Yakuza Kiwami!I also beat The Last Legacy this week and it’s awesome too.

    Have a great weekend!

    • Oh man, I have written some ridiculous video game poetry in my time, but yes, I do love Destiny. I’m about ready to ricochet off the walls in anticipation of tomorrow night!

Oh man…Knack 2. What is there even to say? I played the first when the PS4 launched and…yeah. I didn’t enjoy it. I played it all the way through and I really stopped remotely liking it around…30% of the way.

I mean, I know you were kidding but oof. That game just wasn’t for me.

I hope you had a good time with Yakuza! I can’t wait to play that, or Lost Legacy!

I hope your weekend was stellar and that your week follows suit!

  2. I LOVE that poem! It perfectly captures my excitement that the grind will become new again and have new features. This weekend I may not game too much as I’m trying to lessen my workload before Destiny 2 releases. However, I did start The Order: 1886 on Tuesday, Overwatch’s new competitive season started and I return to Mass Effect Andromeda when I can. So far I’m enjoying The Order but I understand the criticisms because it has an incredibly slow place in a very detail oriented world that can be confusing coupled with little player freedom. It plays atypically then most games and it feels odd. But I’m a huge fan of the Arthurian Legends and so the subject matter draws me in. Oh and I can’t forget The Call of Duty: WW2 beta. I was so excited to receive a key in the Xfinity promotion. From the little I’ve played, it feels a lot like Call of Duty and I’m not so sure that I need more Call of Duty at this time. Still, I’m grateful for the opportunity to try the game out.

    • Aw, thank you! I was feeling terribly silly. Now that release is a day away, I’m about to bounce myself off the walls.

I had very similar feelings to The Order. I recall only one “mission” where I really enjoyed it and I felt like I saw what it could be if it let loose a bit more, but then it was right back to the heavily scripted stuff. I feel like if a dev turns all their really big moments into QTEs, they aren’t doing the game justice, you know?

I’m glad you got a chance to play the COD: WWII beta. I had really wanted to but never got a code. Darn! Oh, well.

Also, welcome to the Land Sharks!! We are glad to have you. :)

  3. Playing some Overwatch, and catching up on some PC games I have missed like SOMA and Bastion.
I might also try the PC Beta of Destiny 2, but I am not going to get my hopes up too much since PC ports seem to be on the lower end of priorities for a lot of Publishers and Developers these days.
