This week has been chock-full of announcements, but one I’ve been looking forward to the most finally got some concrete details.
The beta for Destiny 2 will be staggered based on platform:
July 18th: Early access PS4 beta
July 19th: Early access Xbox One beta
July 21st: Open beta
Late August: PC beta
.
The release dates for the game have changed a bit, and they are now as follows:
September 6th: PS4 and Xbox One (launch was originally scheduled for the 8th but was moved up)
October 24th: PC
.
I’m looking forward to getting my hands on the beta and playing it exhaustively. I could wax on about it for a good long while (and probably bore the living crap out of you in doing so), but since this week has been full of words, I will spare you my Destiny 2 gushing.
Will you be playing the beta? Are you looking forward to Destiny 2?
Also, what will you be playing this weekend? I’m hoping to get in some Destiny (it’s on my brain!), as well as another game, but I haven’t pinned one down yet. I’m thinking either Tales From the Borderlands (finally), Far Cry: Primal, or Wolfenstein: The New Order. So many possibilities!

I’m thinking about giving the Destiny 2 beta a shot. I never played any of the original Destiny so I don’t know if any of the changes will be as apparent to me but I’m curious to see if I’ll like it. I finished both Red Dead Redemption and Persona 5 so I’m currently pondering what game I’ll start/continue on. My first thought is Breath of the Wild.

Wheee! If you do play it, I hope you enjoy it. And, I can tell you as someone who has spent literally many hundreds of hours with the first game, the changes they are making to the second almost universally look like they are for the better.
Holy crap, wow! Those are two huge games to finish! If you do start Breath of the Wild, I hope you enjoy it. :)

I appreciate that Destiny 2 is announcing an open beta. I intend to pre-order it after Shadow of War was delayed (I was originally trying to buy 1 or the other). Now I’m not so sure if there’s other games that I want on day 1 this fall and so I’ll plan for both. I missed out on the GameStop edition of Destiny 2 and I’ve been weighing what edition to order. But if I don’t make a decision by mid-July, I can still play the open beta. Yay. This weekend I want to dig into Mass Effect Andromeda but after E3 I want to play all of the games in my back log such as the Metro series, Wolfenstein: The New Order, Assassin’s Creed: Black Flag on as well as Ori and the Blind Forest. Also, I really need sleep.

Yay!! Sadly, I also missed the edition I wanted from GameStop. I was sure I’d be able to get it, but just a couple of weeks after it was announced, they were sold out.
Your list of potential games looks awesome. I wish you must fun there, but I also wish you some solid rest.

I finished Persona 5 last week. I spent over 100 hours on it, and would gladly spend 100 more.
This week, I started playing Zelda: Breath of the Wild. I think it’s been fantastic so far, I’m having so much fun just exploring.
I’m not terribly invested in Destiny 2, but I hope you enjoy it.

I’ll certainly try the PS4 and/or the PC Beta when they come out. I kinda missed out on the Destiny train, so I hope Destiny 2 will be my next ticket in!
Oh, and I’ve been super overloaded with games lately, so this weekend will probably see me in front of some combination of Middle-Earth Shadow of Mordor, Yakuza 0, Horizon Zero Dawn, and maybe even Hollow Knight.
