My Upcoming E3 2017 Coverage

It’s hard to believe E3 2017 is less than a month away. I had been wanting to post about my E3 plans for a while, but was waiting until Ubisoft confirmed the date and time of their presser. Today, they not only nailed that information down, but also surprise announced Far Cry 5, which pleased me greatly. Far Cry is one of my favorite game series, and I’m looking forward to finding out what they have in store.

As in years prior, I will be “covering” E3 for my website beginning with the EA presser on Saturday, June 10th at 12pm PST. As before, I will be posting a recap of each presser as it happens, as well as live-tweeting my thoughts during the press conference itself. If you are so inclined, please join me on Twitter for what I can only assume will be my over-the-top excitement during the week of E3.

As with much of my excitement, I anticipate a lot of caps lock during that time.

The E3 2017 presser schedule is as follows:

Saturday, June 10th
EA 12pm PST

Sunday, June 11th
Microsoft 2pm PST
Bethesda 7pm PST

Monday, June 12th
Ubisoft 1pm PST
Sony 6pm PST

Tuesday, June 13th
Nintendo 9am PST

In the weeks leading up to the events, I will be waxing on various E3 related topics. I hope you’ll join me here!

Right now, I’d love to know: what are you hoping to see from E3 2017? What do you think will be announced? Will you be watching the livestreams as they occur?

Only 24 days to go! Let’s do this!

  1. This could be the year of Star Wars I hope. I was upset with Battlefront but Battlefront 2 looks to be a major improvement. Also I want to see all those other SW projects come to light. I’m always interested in more Assassin’s Creed, and I hope they finally show some Beyond Good and Evil 2 stuff. Maybe a teaser for the next Elder Scrolls game, the Cyberpunk game from the Witcher devs, and I’m sure Destiny 2 will get some love at E3. I hope my stream of consciousness has made sense lol, typing from work.

    • I hope they actually show some in game footage from those Star Wars games. And not just a montage of quick clips.

I’m certain they will show the new Ass Creed, and I can not WAIT for more information about Far Cry 5. That series is my jam.

I do think there is a decent possibility we hear about the next Elder Scrolls as well as the next Wolfenstein.

I would lose my proverbial sh*t if Cyberpunk made an appearance. Also, I hope Destiny 2 shows up on Sony’s stage. I am so excited for that beta.

  2. Yaaasss! It’s getting close now! I like that the conferences are more spread out this year.

Do you think Mr. Caffeine makes a comeback this year? I think it’s time for him to make a come back!

    My expectations:

EA: I’m really curious for the new Need For Speed…I thought the last one was really mediocre, but I hope they improve on that. I’d love new entries for SSX and SimCity. As a soccer fan I’m always hoping for a overhaul in the FIFA franchise, but that never happens…so I don’t expect much anymore.

Microsoft: They’ll be showing Scorpio and I REALLY HOPE they bring the big guns and some new IPs…they could use a few of them. Other than that…Sunset Overdrive 2 would be awesome even with Insomniac working on the Spider-Man game. I could use a new Age of Empires game too. CUPHEAD release date, please.

Also State of Decay 2, Sea of Thieves and Crackdown 3 should be releasing soon.

Ubisoft: I’m also hyped for the new Far Cry 5, but I hope they shake the formula a bit from 3, 4 and Primal. I’d play a new Rayman game too. More little games like Child of Light and Valiant Hearts. I hope Vivendi acquisition of Ubi doesn’t affect them much.

Sony: Sony would be fine showing just game they already announced. I expect a huge showing of God of War and Spider-Man…I cannot wait any longer for these two games. And Days Gone, and Shenmue III, and Gran Turismo Sport, and Death Stranding, and Detroit…Sony has a lot of big games going on right now! I bet they won’t even show new TLoU content and save for PSX. Also, Dreams…I guess, not really hyped for this, but probably will be there too.

For new announcements…I’m confident we will get a Shenmue I and II HD re-release and Sucker Punch will finally reveal their new game. I think they’ll bring an old mascot too…Spyro, Sly, MedEvil…I don’t know, but I think they’ll do something with a “mascot game”. I wouldn’t even mind a new Playstation All-Stars Battle Royale

Nintendo: Probably will show a lot of new 3rd parties coming to Switch. I’d take a new Pokémon game, even if it’s the Sun&Moon sequel.

I hope they bring a few surprises along the way, too. It will be hard to those to get a time to shine on E3, but I’d love updates on the new Disaster Report game, City shrouded in Shadow, new Swery game and other stuff.

As you can see…i’m mega hyped!

    • I have mixed feelings on all the pressers being so spread out, but it will probably keep my laptop from overheating so I think that’s good!

You have a ton of good thoughts on the pressers! I honestly can’t wait. I mean, I will wait because I have to, but I’m so excited it’s unreal.

I’m looking forward to getting to interact about everything as it happens!!

      • Hey Rebekah! Hope you’re doing better. Agreed! I left out Suckerpunch, Naughty Dogs, Konami. & the maker of Gran Turismo. Thoughts?

        • Thank you!

I think it would be shocking if we DIDN’T hear from Sucker Punch this year. Also, we will certainly at least see a trailer from Naughty Dog about The Last of Us Part II. I doubt we will hear from Konami since they are more concerned with pachinko than anything else.

  3. Is it weird that I mostly want to find out Nintendo’s plan for virtual console on Switch?

Also, more on Death Stranding, Red Dead 2, Last of Us 2, FF7 remake. I gave up on Ubisoft ages ago.

  4. There is so much to look forward to and now that we are less than a month away I’m starting to feel the excitement building! Sony has really been knocking it out of the park these last few years and so I’d say I’m anticipating their presser the most. I can’t wait to see more from God of War and Detroit: Become Human. Also I hope they show off that game Wild again as we haven’t seen anything about it in quite some time; I thought it looked fascinating.

I’m also hoping that we get a good deal of information about the upcoming Star Wars games. Then of course with the announcement of Far Cry 5 you know I’m looking forward to seeing that in action. And as always I’m excited for all of the surprises that are surely in store.

    22 Days and counting!

    • I’m also anticipating Sony the most. Their track record for exclusives has been amazing this year.

I feel certain you will see more Star Wars titles further in development and now that Far Cry 5 has been announced for the Montana setting, I’m curious to hear more.

But I can’t wait for those surprises!!
