What In Tarnation?

I seldom have any idea when or how a meme begins. I’ve looked at the website Know Your Meme more than once to get to the bottom of a meme’s origin.

In the last couple of months, I’d been seeing the “What In Tarnation” meme, and, like many others, I looked up its roots.

While I found it interesting enough, it was a random search on Google that showed me some seriously funny versions of it and I fell down a rabbit hole of giggles. I don’t often share memes here, but this time, I’m making an exception. I hope you enjoy them as much as I did.

Well, there you have it. A whole bunch of silly memes I felt were too good not to share. Which, I suppose, is the point of memes.

I suppose you could call this: TARNATION TUESDAY.

    • You have no way of knowing this, but I hit the “like” button extra hard for this one.

      I wish I could make any of those a reality. I really do. You also spurred me to think of a few of my own!

    • So I actually saw one that said “What in the Emancipation Proclamation” and decided against including it in case it offended anyone.

      I loved all these but I am VERY amused by your last suggestion. Can the tea be wearing hats, too?

        • I just didn’t want anyone to think I was taking that, or the topic of slavery, lightly. Better safe than sorry there. I mean, I knew I would never do that, but on the internet, tone and intent are so hard to read. That was all.

    • If you click on the link in the beginning, it takes you to a site called, “Know Your Meme” where they explain how and when it started. It’s pretty funny to see the genesis of how it came to be. :)

      How about, what in claymation? Or what in radiation (showing a microwave with the hat on?)? What in liquidation (a pile of mattresses with a giant hat on top of the pile)?

      Not my best, but I didn’t sleep all that much. You deserve better. I will keep at it.
