Status Report: Week Twenty (The Doldrums)

In a radical change of events…nah, I can’t even pretend. Nothing has changed. I haven’t played anything. It is getting to me enough that for all the times I’m just sitting/laying here, the times when I would normally be playing games, I find myself getting agitated.

I just want to play games again.

I had really thought this weekend I might be able to play Tales From the Borderlands, but that didn’t come close to happening. No text-based games. No point and click games. No games. Period.

This is getting depressing.

I mean, I still have hope that I can somehow play something sooner than later, but when that might be is anyone’s guess. If I look at this logically, since I’ve been sick so long, that means I have to get better any day now, right?

RIGHT?!

I have no idea.

I don’t have any new games on my radar this week, though that matters little when I have all the glorious releases from this year just waiting for me to partake. I want to play them so bad, I can’t even tell you.

Not to mention all the other games I’ve been aching to play. I never even got to finish Titanfall 2.

I’m dangerously close to calling the wahhhmbulance. And I hate calling it erroneously.

There was a Flash Sale on PSN over the weekend and, despite some great deals, I managed to get away with only buying one game, 2064: Read Only Memories. Not that I will be playing it anytime soon.

Blechhh.

So, as much as I’d love to regale you with all the wonderful adventures I’ve been having playing games, I’ve got nothing.

Please, please, PLEASE let me know all about what you played over the weekend, and please, spare no detail. Your stories help me feel like I’m not completely out of the gaming loop.

What will you be playing this week?

Please feed my brain with your words. My brain is so HUNNNGGGRRRYYY.

I’ve been inside too long. Send soup. And stories.

  1. I got to play about six hours of Horizon this weekend, because the baby has started sleeping more or less through the night! So I killed a bunch of machine dinosaurs and wandered aimlessly through the world. Got set on fire by a T-Rex, and shot at by an invisible tiger beast. Good times.

Also downloaded Tales from the Borderlands, and bought the HD versions of Darksiders 1 and 2, which I’ll probably never get to… but hey.

Also, I would totally mail you soup, but it would probably be super messy when it arrived.

    • Not bad!! And WHAT?! Isn’t that like, unheard of for such a young baby? I mean, granted, I know just about nothing about babies, but that seems incredibly young to sleep through the night. Either way, HOORAY!!!

Oh wow. That was a good story. I liked it. More please!

I really want to try to play Tales today. Seems like a long shot for me.

I also have those and after the announcement, I was all excited to try them.

Thank you for the thought, though. I very much appreciate that. :)

  2. Hey Rebekah! Has the Dr. said anything about a given diagnosis? It’s been too long. As for me, I’ll be playing Injustice later this week. Then, not sure what games I’ll play after that.

  3. I do hope you’re up and gaming again soon.

This weekend, I finished Night in the Woods. The praise it’s gotten for story and writing is well-deserved. I also played through Trials of the Blood Dragon, had a great time of it, and (I, too) put some hours into Horizon.

  4. I’ve been playing Atelier Firis on the Vita for a couple of weeks now. At first I balked at the deadline to take the license exam. I don’t do well on deadlines! But the fact that this Atelier game is the first to have open world exploration drew me in again.
Enjoying myself very much, although Firis at times seems like a spoiled teenager!

    • I feel terrible that I am so behind in reading your articles. I want to, and then my time at the computer gets so limited before I lay down. But it is on my to do list!

I’m glad you are enjoying yourself in Atelier Firis! I’m not sure I understand about the license exam, though?
