This image is a fairly good representation of my gaming landscape over the past months: cracked, and mostly barren. Nothing.
Lots and lots of it.
As you’ve likely expected, I’ve played nothing. Still. I genuinely thought this past week I might be able to, but I had a few unexpected (and brain consuming) hiccups, and ended up with nearly nothing productive to show for the week.
I forgot that I pre-ordered Prey and it showed up on Friday. I’m still not sold on it, so in the plastic it stays. It’s not like I’m playing it anyway.
I would love to continue to exhibit hope that I will get to play any of the glorious games on my heaving backlog sooner than later, however, at this point, I feel like I know better.
If I get to play anything, it will be a miracle. But I’m not holding my breath. I’m losing a little hope here. I’m trying to keep positive, but it’s getting to me.
So, to respect your time, I won’t drag this out. Basically, my gaming status is: nowhere.
What did you play over the weekend? What are you hoping to play this week?

I am in the same boat, but I am in it for a different reason than you are right now. Regardless of the circumstances that got us to a point where we are unable to enjoy our favorite hobby, it sucks to be here just the same. I am going to be starting College online with Liberty University for a Bachelor of Science in Information Technology: Game Design starting on May 15th. It is kind of a bummer to think that I can’t even enjoy gaming right now on a personal basis, but will be learning how to create games for others to play. It is like a strange, twisted sense of irony—like a house builder unable to own a home.
I am confident that this will not last forever, and that it will not be so for you, either. One day, when I have finished creating my first game, I am going to send you a copy and you will be among the first to review it—I am sure of this.
Whether it will be on the PS5, Xbox Magnifico (or whatever they will call the inevitable follow up to the 1 and Scorpio), Nintendo Switch (which I do plan on developing for, BTW) or PC—you will be here to play it…and hopefully enjoy it, as well.
This period you are going through will pass, as it will for me. You know what I have been through, and how long it took to get things better. If you ever need to look for an example of Hope, then you know of one place where to ask about it.
Take care, Rebekah, and don’t give up Hope.

I feel bad and sorry that you have been sick and haven’t played anything in so long.

Aww, thank you. I feel like I’m going to have to force myself to play something even if it makes me feel worse, at this rate.

I share Colton’s sentiments. I didn’t get a chance to play Andromeda; plan to try & finish it in the near future. I also saw Guardians of the Galaxy 2. I liked their setup for future Marvel films. Ijs!

Thank you. Man, you and Colton both saw Guardians! Nice! I’ve still never even seen the first one.
I hope you are able to finish Andromeda.

You’re missing out! Both are great movies. The post credits make the movies, imho! Looking to finish Andromeda in the near future. Keep you posted!

Don’t give up!! It may be awhile longer until you find relief but it’ll come. I’ll bequeath you my own personal go-to for a pick-me-up, “You may not be green and have a cool shell. But you’ll be you and you’ll do it so well” as sung by the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles in the acclaimed Coming Out Of Our Shells album presented by Pizza Hut. I played the most recent episodes of Telltale’s The Walking Dead and it was emotionally taxing. I’m not playing too much these days (i.e. work responsibilities). But I’ve my eye on Mass Effect Andromeda and a desire to return to the wasteland of Fallout 4. I didn’t buy Prey, saving money won out.

I’m trying to hang in there, but this past week has been discouraging. I will keep at it. That mantra helps! It definitely made me smile. :) Thank you.
Man, you have so many good games on deck. I also haven’t even played Fallout 4. Another I’d like to get to at some point.
I don’t blame you for waiting on Prey. I’m kind of wishing I had. The one time pre-ordering has stung me. Oh wait, I also pre-ordered Homefront. Okay, so I’ve felt a bit of buyers regret over the past couple of years. Overall, I’ve done a bit better about not buying so many games.
I’m rambling. I’m sorry.

I think you have a solid lineup of games there. Though, to be fair, I’m a bit partial to the last one. Is it co-op?
