Status Report: Week Sixteen (Grumpy)

It’s going to be a brief one.

I had such high hopes going into the weekend. I really thought I’d be able to at least try to play something.

Joke’s on me.

This weekend I felt worse than I have in a while and nearly slept through both days. What a colossal waste. And I don’t even feel remotely better for it. Last night was especially awful.

So I have zero progress to report. I can’t even begin to speculate on whether or not I will be able to even try playing anything this week. It is depressing.

The longer I am sick, the more I realize how upset it is making me. I’m grumpy and frustrated and, frankly, getting a little angry. I am more than ready for all this to be in the past.

What did you play over the weekend? What are you hoping to get to this week?

Now, if you’ll excuse me, I am (as usual) going back to sleep. Ugh.

I’ve been playing Persona 5 and basically only Persona 5! I put over 24 hours into already. And there’s so much game left yet! I’m loving it. It’s weird, I don’t play a lot of rpgs, specially jrpgs, but I loved Persona 4 and now I’m loving 5.

    Keep Fighting!

    • I love when a game can just pull you in like that! It makes me even more excited to start it. :)

And I will! I mean, I have to get better sometime, right?

  2. I praise you for keeping up with your blogging schedule.
Oh, I didn’t play anything this past week either.
Just cooked on my day off.
Happy Easter. No rabbits were harmed in the making of Easter dinner.
    Get better soon.

    • Thank you. I’m not going to lie: there are many days where I don’t want to be in front of the computer at all and just try to write as fast as I can. This morning I just couldn’t do it. So it was short. I hate doing that, but I had to go back to sleep.

Nothing at all? Perhaps throw a few Overwatch matches in there?

Happy Easter to you as well. And I’m glad all the bunnies are safe.

      Thank you. I hope to.

    • Hopefully you are nearing the home stretch? Either way, I hope you are having a good time.

And thank you. I would LOVE that. Love as in throw my arms around it and sing songs to it. I want to feel better so bad.

      • Hey Rebekah! I’m probably in the last third of Andromeda. I’m just trying to do the loyalty missions; the last mission: Meridian before the “final battle”. Hope things are looking up! Hope you get to play a few minutes of something. Anything!

  4. Gosh, I hope that you get to feeling better sometime soon! I’m pulling for your good health! I haven’t had much game time due to work but I’ve dabbled in Overwatch when I can. The PvE mode is fun. I can’t seem to raise my ranking, I win and lose in equal amounts. But its fun and I’ve begun trying out more characters such as Mercy and Widowmaker.

    • Thank you, Megan! I am trying a new mental approach to things so we will see if that makes any difference.

Aww, I’m sorry there hasn’t been time for games lately. You’ve also reminded me how much I want to at least try the Overwatch event.

I also love when things get you to try games from different perspectives, in this case with new characters. I still like going into the AI environment to play around with different characters. It’s such a cool feature.

  5. I’m still playing Persona 5 pretty much exclusively. I’m enjoying it except that my cat keeps making me rack up late fees on my DVD rentals of the X Folders and GuyMcVer because it won’t let me stay up late. (Despite how weird this sounds it totally makes sense)

I hope you feel better soon. I can’t wait to hear about all the great games you’ll finally get to play!

    • It does sound strange, but I believe you that it makes sense! I really can’t wait to play it for myself. It looks so amazing.

Aww, thank you! I am trying to take a different mental approach to this sickness so we will see if it makes a difference. I’m hoping!

  6. I really hope that you start to see improvement soon Rebekah. At the very least I hope that you are able to play a game this week as I’m sure even a couple of hours would help to lift your spirits.

I plan on playing the Dark Souls 3 DLC this week. I imagine it will be gratifying in a very particular way, knowing that it is going to be the finale for the series.

    • Thank you, I hope that, too! I swear, not being able to play is really freaking me out. I actually sat there the other day thinking, what if I can never play games again? I know that’s melodramatic, but it felt like a legitimate concern. It’s hard to write about games when you aren’t playing any, you know? Anyway, I’m trying to take a different mental approach to this sickness so we’ll see if that makes any difference at all.

Oh boy, I hope you have fun and don’t die from stupid crap every ten seconds. Oh, and I see much dodge rolling in your future. :)
