December Game Challenge: Week Two (Going Nowhere)

the-last-guardian-01

Today’s post is going to be a short, and unsatisfactory, one. This past week I’ve continued to feel terrible and have played nothing on console. The only thing I played was a few minutes of Pokemon Sun, but only here and there, and only to check in on things in Poke Pelago.

I see the days counting down and I think about all those games I feel I must get to before the end of the year and I feel panicked. How can I get through even a few of these games, let alone some of the larger ones?

I suppose the real truth here is that I won’t. I’ve made my priority list of the games I absolutely want to see through to end credits before the calendar hits 12.31, but I’m still wary.

Sadly, the real game I’ve been playing has involved my face on my pillow about half the time. It’s very boring.

The first game on my list to complete is The Last Guardian. Not only do I want to experience it for myself, I’m becoming increasingly worried it will get spoiled for me the longer I wait. Next up will be Titanfall 2. After that, I’d like to finish Dishonored 2, and if I can manage to do all those things, I’ll figure it out from there.

We also leave on holiday in a little over a week, and I am planning on taking my Vita with me to play a couple of 2016 releases I still haven’t gotten to: Zero Time Dilemma and Yomawari: Night Alone. I imagine I will have some time in transit and various downtimes to play more than a little of those.

So that’s really that. Most of my pieces are longer than this, but I can’t see drawing it out just to make the words add up.

So I will ask: what have you been playing? What will you be playing over the coming week? And what games do you hope to get to before the end of the year?

  2. I’m right there with you, sickly and miserable. Some type of horrible cold has taken over. I can’t think, only sleep. When I can play I’ve been bouncing between Inside and The Witcher 3. Playing Inside is brutal with those gnarly deaths that happen to the boy, especially by the dogs. The Witcher 3 is fun, I’m still in the prologue and wandering around wherever I go. Ideally, I’ll replay Telltale Games’ The Walking Dead seasons before season 3 launches soon. But for now, I’ll go take a nap. Feel better!

    • Oh no! I’m so sorry! I hope you are able to rest and have someone that can bring you soup or tea or both.

Oh gosh, those deaths in Inside are weirdly graphic. I can think of a few that stand out to me, one involving a pig. Yikes.

You mentioning that reminds me that I still need to play season two of The Walking Dead. I loved season one. I’m excited for the next one.

      Thank you, YOU TOO!
