Bethesda held their second annual dedicated press conference this evening and here are the highlights:

They opened the show with a teaser for Quake Champions.

Tim Willits of id Software took the stage to discuss the new Quake Champions (a competitive arena FPS) for PC.

Pete Hines took the stage to recap Bethesda’s prior year of releases and milestones. He touched upon The Elder Scrolls: Legends (a strategy card game) and explained the beta will soon be allowing more people in.

Todd Howard appeared via video to introduce the new additions coming to Fallout 4. He also mentioned an update coming to Fallout Shelter and that a PC version will be added.

A remaster of Skyrim will be coming on October 28, 2016.

Raphael Colantonio from Arkane Studios took the stage to announce a new Prey. It is coming next year.

Marty Stratton appeared via video to discuss the updates set for Doom in the coming year.

For a limited time, players can download and play the first level of Doom free.

Matt Firor took the stage to discuss The Elder Scrolls Online. He detailed a bit about the forthcoming The Dark Brotherhood DLC. He also announced One Tamriel, which alters the game to no longer have content barriers.

Pete Hines discussed Bethesda VR. He noted that Doom, as well as Fallout 4, would be playable in VR at E3 2016. Fallout 4 will be released in 2017 on the HTC Vive.

Harvey Smith of Arkane Studios took the stage to discuss Dishonored 2. The game uses the Void Engine to create atmospheric locations that resemble art. (The game looks amazing.) An extended look at the game was shown.

A brand new trailer for Dishonored 2 was premiered.

Bethesda brought a solid lineup of games to round out the first day of pressers, and I’m looking forward to hearing more about Prey down the line. Hopefully we get some big surprises tomorrow at the Microsoft, Ubisoft, and Sony press conferences. See you then!

  1. Rebekah, you forgot to mention that in the beginning before the Quake preview; the MS-DOS feature mentioned New Colossus. Could it be a future Wolfenstein entry? I am interested in hearing more about Prey. It looks like it will be an interesting game.

    • I wasn’t going to touch on potentials, but rather what was actually announced, so it wasn’t a “forgot” but rather an intentional omission.

Prey looked fascinating. I can’t wait to hear more about it.
