Happy 2016, friends! I hope everyone had a safe and silly ringing in of the new year.
I managed to stay awake until midnight (a feat in and of itself), then promptly fell asleep for ten hours.
Look at me go.
However I feel pretty good because on this first day of this new year, I managed to put into practice some of my recently made gaming resolutions. I have to say, it felt pleasantly productive. Now the challenge is in putting those changes into regular practice and turning them into a habit. It apparently takes three weeks to form a habit, and I feel like that’s a manageable chunk of time.
When I think about what 2016 holds (game-wise) I’m genuinely excited. There are so many games we know about (and who knows how many we don’t) on schedule for release this year, and I think we are in for some fascinating experiences.
If I had to call out one game in particular that leads my excite-o-meter, it’s Dishonored 2. The first game took me by surprise and I loved it. I can’t wait to see where the sequel takes us.
But most of all, I can’t wait to find out what certain developers are working on. I’d love to hear more from the following in particular:
ThatGameCompany
Sucker Punch Productions
Irrational Games (in whatever form the company currently exists)
So with that I ask: what are you looking forward to in 2016? A specific game that’s already been announced? An announcement from a particular developer? Or are you hoping for a happy surprise out of the blue?
No matter what you hope for, I wish each of you a safe and prosperous new year.
Cheers, friends.

I’m really looking forward to how Uncharted 4 turns out.

I’m sure it’s going to be as polished as everything Naughty Dog puts out. The delay wasn’t ideal, but I’d far rather they delay it a month than release a game that needs a huge day-one patch. It’s going to be beautiful.

Happy New Year. I’m excited to see if/what the next season of Life is Strange is going to be. If you haven’t played it, I recommend it.

WOMBAT! Happy new year!
Okay, that just cements to me that I NEED to play that game next.

I really hated the ending. I don’t want to spoil it for you if you really want to play it, but for me it was a huge letdown. Felt like the budget/release date wasn’t extended so they had to get it out and couldn’t do everything they wanted.

Oh dear. I’m still going to play it, but yeesh. That doesn’t sound promising.

For me, The Division & SFV. From a developer Bioware’ ME: Andromeda. Hoping to learn more about it come E3 this summer. That’s just a few games on my list at the moment.

That’s a good list. I’m also kind of surprised we haven’t heard more about The Division since it is releasing so soon.

Hey Rebekah, mind if I ask you a question? A month ago I changed my my wordpress.com site over to a self hosted site. I transferred my wordpress followers over (you are one of course!) and I was wondering: do you still receive notifications from WordPress reader about my new blogs? I’m curious, as I saw you had followed my site again! I’m afraid transferring to wordpress.org meant that followers don’t get updates anymore! Thanks, Yvonne

I believe I am getting the notifications, but I also think I followed you again at your new site…so maybe that’s why? When did you switch over? I can check my email archives to let you know for sure.

I switched over at December 2nd, and yes, you did follow me again. I saw it at the time but didn’t realize why. My visitor count has been down some 30% since the move, but I had no idea why. I accidently stumbled across the reason this weekend: because WordPress.com readers don’t get notifications, or so the article said!

Oh wow. Wait, that doesn’t make sense. The people who follow my site (it’s a WordPress.com site) get notifications. I suggest you follow your own site so you always know what notifications are sent out. I did that a while back and I always feel better knowing the notification was sent.
I’m looking back through my email, but I don’t think I’m getting the notifications regularly even though I followed you anew. I’m sorry it’s not working properly. :(

I’m excited for all of it, but mostly excited for the opportunity to play more than I did in 2015. Shouldn’t be too hard. Game on!
